Jarrod Backous has worked on Capitol Hill, in private industry and for political campaigns across the country.
In both 2012 and 2014, Jarrod served as political desk for the House Majority PAC where he was responsible for developing and executing independent expenditure strategies in congressional races around the country. He oversaw $30 million in spending that helped elect or re-elect over 25 Members of Congress.
Previously, Jarrod led the candidate service desk at the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee and managed Congressman Brad Schneider’s hard fought 2012 primary victory. Jarrod also led the fundraising efforts for the campaigns of Senator Ben Nelson in 2006 and Senator Mark Pryor in 2008.
At AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals, Jarrod headed up the political program and built its political action committee, establishing a grassroots program at the height of health care reform and being a political liaison between the company and Democratic officials.
Jarrod is a proud Nebraskan native, graduated from the University of Nebraska at Kearney and is an alumnus of Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities program. He currently lives in Alexandria, VA with his wife and two kids.
